Shootout Schedule May 3rd – May 6th 2012

Thursday – May 3

7 a. m. Registration

7 – 11:30 a.m. Precision Single Action Rifle 
LOCATION – on covered range south of Stage 1  (Must sign up at the stage by 10 a.m. to shoot)

9 a.m. – Noon. Long Range Lever Rifle on Stage 6

9 a.m., 11 a.m. & 1:00 p.m WARM-UP STAGES – Meet on Stage 5
(Four stages: Sign up at registration office. Cost is $20)
NOTE: Each warm-up session limited to 80 shooters. Sign up early!

11:00 a.m. – 2 p.m. Speed Pistol on Stage 3
Speed Rifle on Stage 4
Speed Shotgun on Stage 4
Shoot long range rifle and speed stages as many times as you  like. Your best time will be the one that counts for bragging rights.  First run is free and after that it’s $1 per run. All funds go to  Bakersfield National Cemetery. Shoot your heart out, it’s a good cause!

1:00 p.m Plainsman meet on Stage 10 (Three Stages)

3:30. p.m. Posse leader walk through. Meet on Stage 1  (This is for Posse Leaders ONLY).

The Howling Wolf will open after the last shot is fired and the range is closed  to all shooting. No guns permitted in the Wolf.

DUSK: Movie night at the main stage. Not another John Wayne  movie… oh no. Tonight you can experience “The General”  starring Buster Keaton. Filmed in 1926, this flick has been declared a masterpiece and is in keeping with our theme.  FREE PEANUTS AND SODAS.

Friday – May 4

7 a. m. Registration
8 a.m. Mandatory Shooter’s Meeting

Cannon shot indicates main match can begin.

The Howling Wolf Saloon will open after cannon shot.  No guns permitted in the Wolf.

6 p.m. Dinner** followed by the flying fiddle fingers of the  Mad Trapper of Rat River. He has performed at  cowboy events from Alaska to Arizona as benefits  for the Wounded Warriors. Under a different alias, the Mad Trapper has performed as a classical violinist throughout Canada, Europe and the U.S.

**Please don’t forget to bring your dinner tickets on Friday & Sat.  They are in your packet and you must present a ticket to be served.

Saturday – May 5

8:30 a. m. Cannon shot indicates main match may continue.

6 p.m. Dinner with entertainment and dancing to the Rudy Parris Band.
During dinner the top 16 men and women will be invited to shoot  the Mano & Womano Shoot Off on Sunday morning.

Sunday – May 6

7:30 a.m. Cowboy church in the Howling Wolf Saloon.

9 – 11:30 a.m. “BIG DOG” SHOOT OFF: Come and see the fastest 16  men and woman shoot for the top spot at Stage 2.  No carnival, just speed. Count is 10, 10, and 6+. Winner will  shoot five times for the award. THEN for bragging rights the coup de gras will be Mars vs.Venus.

12 Noon –  Awards Ceremony
